What a fantastic day this was, I had the pleasure of providing wedding photography to Rhys & Rachel who had their wedding at the Last Drop village. As a Bolton Wedding Photographer, I have the pleasure of shooting at this venue frequently and this time it was a beautiful spring day working alongside the guys from Big Picture Wedding Videography
Rhys & Rachel are such a relaxed couple and their family and friends were great to be around, lots of fun and laughter. The day started at Rachel's parents where Rachel and her bridesmaids had already began their preparations. A relaxed morning followed before their wedding car arrived to carry them in style to the wedding venue where the groom was anxiously waiting.
Following a memorable service we captured the family groups shots then a quick drive in their classic wedding car where the couple had a quiet moment to themselves. We then captured some lovely bride and groom portraits around the grounds, the light in the gardens around the front of the hotels was beautiful and we spent some time around the fountain and wooden pergola.
The wedding breakfast followed after which the father of the bride, groom and best man making some lovely, funny, emotional speeches. While the room, the penny Farthing Suite, was turned around we took the opportunity to have another short bride and groom portrait session. By this time, the sun was setting over the West Pennine Moors and the directional golden light was wonderful.
The evening guests had now arrived and following the cutting of the cake and first dance, the groom's father had one more surprise up his sleeve. Rhys is a huge Star Wars fan and his father had arranged for some special guests to make an appearance. Despite initially looking like they would take the groom hostage and kidnap him, Darth Vader and Storm Troopers instead decided to take the bride for a twirl around the dance floor, not something you see at every wedding :)
I had such a great day at this Last Drop village Wedding, here's to many more in the future.
Here's some of my favourite images from the day

The Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa, situated in Bolton, Greater Manchester, has a captivating history that adds to its allure as a premier wedding venue. The roots of this remarkable location can be traced back to the 17th century when it served as an inn for travelers and merchants traversing the historic packhorse routes of Lancashire.
Originally known as the "The Last Drop Inn," the establishment gained its name from the nearby gallows where condemned prisoners would take their last drink before facing execution. Over the centuries, the inn grew in popularity, becoming a beloved fixture in the local community and a haven for weary travellers seeking respite along their journeys.
In the 20th century, the inn underwent extensive renovations and expansions, transforming into the charming village-style hotel that stands today.
