Festive Bolton School Wedding Photography - Nick & Leanne

For my very last wedding of 2015 I had the pleasure of providing wedding photography to Nick & Leanne at one of my favourite Bolton Wedding Venues: Bolton School

I remember meeting up with Nick & Leanne for the first time during their initial booking consultation, Leanne was so nervous, excited and full of ideas of how they wanted their Christmas Wedding to be; the date had been set, 29th December 2015 and I couldn't wait to photograph this Bolton Winter Wedding.

In the weeks leading up to the big day, the weather had been terrible with floods and storms persistently hitting the area. I have photographed weddings in adverse conditions conditions previously and while it presents its own set of challenges, there are also opportunities for some beautiful creative outdoor bride and groom portraits; I had prepared myself for the worst weather that could be thrown at us. Fortunately the day turned out beautiful, a chill in the air but clear blue skies and hardly a breeze.

The bridal wedding preparations started at the Whites Hotel at the Macron Stadium in a lovely room overlooking the pitch. The nerves had passed and there was nothing but excitement for Leanne, her bridesmaids and flowergirl while getting ready.

Photographing bridal preparation isn't just an opportunity to capture the excitement building, it is the time where I capture the details shots of the dress, flowers and shoes. Possibly even more importantly, it allows me to get to know the bridal partly and for everyone to start feeling comfortable in front of the camera.

From the Hotel it was off to Bolton School. Guests had started to arrive and despite making me and the wedding coordinator nervous by arriving a little late, Nick arrived in style driven in a beautiful (and noisy) GT-R.

The wedding ceremony was beautiful and emotional, held in the Great Hall surrounded by family and friend with the wedding breakfast and reception being held in the Arts Centre Main Hall.

Nick and Leanne are such a warm, friendly and fun couple, I think I enjoyed their day as much as they did, their love for each other was clear to see on the day and in the images which I hope they treasure forever.
