Wedding Photography at the Shaw Hill Hotel in Chorley.

Jimmy and Sarah were married at the Shaw Hill Hotel at the end of May. I was thrilled to be asked to photograph their big day, we met for the first time around 12 months before the wedding to discuss ideas, they are such lovely people, I knew this would be a wonderful day.

I arrived around an hour before the service was due to commence and was starting with some images of the gents and venue when Sarah made her arrival unexpectedly early. As guests were still arriving and the Jimmy the groom was around the venue meeting and greeting them we didn't want them crossing paths or for too many guests to see the beautiful bride before the ceremony. We instead used the opportunity to take Sarah into the grounds and get some lovely bridal portraits before the ceremony.

The service was beautiful, Jimmy and Sarah looked so happy and the day went without a hitch. I was about to pack and leave after the wedding breakfast but fortunately captured the most wonderful moment; Sarah & Jimmy's grandparents who were not expected to be able to attend during the day simply couldn't let the occasion pass without seeing the bride and groom, they unexpectedly arrived to an emotional welcome, I'm so pleased I was there to capture that lovely moment.

The Shaw Hill Hotel is such a fantastic venue; I normally like to mainly shoot outdoors using the surroundings and scenery as a backdrop, this is one of the venues where I intentionally shoot indoors. The Gold Room is beautifully decorated and ideal for intimate weddings, it has lovely light and those gorgeous floor to ceiling windows which lend themselves so well to a full length bridal shot...stunning!
